Check the stock a Shopify store exposes for a product.
Save a product, run a stock check and see the quantity the storefront allows for each variant, with the date of the reading.
Availability, variant by variant.
What you can see
- Total units available, or unlimited when the store does not track stock
- Variants in stock out of the total
- Quantity, price and status for each variant
- Variants running low, at five units or fewer
- The date of the latest check, and a warning when it is old
You see whether a product is running low, without ordering it.
From saved product to stock reading.
Save the product
Keep it in your products from the inspector or the explorer.
Run the check
Open the product in your workspace and start a stock check with the extension connected.
Read each variant
Quantities, statuses and warnings appear in a variant table.
Check again later
Re-run the check when you want a newer reading.
See whether a product is close to selling out.
A product looks popular, but the page only says in stock or sold out. Whether ten units or ten thousand are left makes a very different story.
A stock check reads the quantity the store allows for each variant. You see which sizes or colors are running low, and keep the reading with the product.
Questions it helps answer
- How much stock is left on this product?
- Which variants are running low?
- Does the store track its inventory at all?
A stock level is not a sales figure.
Evidio reads the quantity a store's cart accepts for each variant, then empties the cart. Stores that do not track inventory show as unlimited, and some cap what the cart accepts. Only the latest check is kept, so a stock reading is a snapshot to interpret, not a record of units sold.
Observed
- The quantity the cart accepts for each variant
- Whether the store tracks inventory
Estimated or inferred
- Which variants are running low
- What the level says about demand, which is your reading
Keep researching this part of the workflow.
Frequently asked questions
How does the stock check work?
With the extension connected, Evidio asks the store's cart how many units of each variant it would accept, then clears the cart. Nothing is ordered.
Can I see a history of stock levels?
No. Each check replaces the previous one, and the date of the latest reading is shown with it.
Why does a product show unlimited stock?
Because the store does not track inventory for it, or lets it sell without stock. There is then no quantity to read.
Which Evidio plan includes this feature?
This core feature is available on the Free plan. Paid plans add higher limits or complementary capabilities where applicable.
