What you can see

  • The country the store's audience comes from, with its currency
  • The country the business is based in
  • Its sales reach: one country, one region, several countries or worldwide
  • The languages the storefront offers

You know which market a store plays in before you compare it with yours.

How it works

From signals to market.

  1. Analyze a store

Market signals are collected with the rest of the analysis.

  2. Evidio weighs the evidence

Traffic by country, the business's registered country, the domain, hreflang, currency and language each count for part of the answer.

  3. Read the market

Audience country, country of origin and sales reach appear in the store details.

When it helps

Keep market comparisons fair.

The situation

You compare two stores' traffic and prices, then realize one sells in the UK and the other ships worldwide from Poland. The comparison was never like for like.

With Evidio

The store details show audience country, origin and reach. You compare stores that play in the same market, or you know why their numbers differ.

Questions it helps answer

  • Which country is this store's audience in?
  • Where is the business based?
  • Does it sell locally or internationally?
Read the signal correctly

An inference from several signals.

No single signal gives a store's market, so Evidio weighs several. The heaviest are the traffic estimate by country and the business country Shopify publishes; the domain, hreflang, currency and language complete them. A .com store in English with dollar prices can stay unassigned, and without traffic data the sales reach is not shown.

Observed

  • The domain extension, hreflang tags, currency and languages
  • The business country the storefront publishes

Estimated or inferred

  • Traffic by country, which is estimated
  • The audience country, origin and sales reach Evidio deduces

Frequently asked questions

Which signals does Evidio use?

Traffic by country, the business country the storefront publishes, the domain extension, hreflang tags, the currency and the languages. Each counts for part of the answer.

Why is the market unknown for some stores?

When signals are weak or contradict each other, for example an English .com store priced in dollars with no traffic data, Evidio leaves the market unassigned rather than guessing.

What does sales reach mean?

How widely the traffic spreads: one country, one region, several countries or worldwide. It needs traffic data to be shown.
