Product Saturation
Product saturation describes a market state, not a formal metric. It happens when a product: often one that recently went viral. Is being sold by so many stores at once that shoppers see it everywhere. The result is rising ad costs as more advertisers bid on the same audiences, price wars, and thinning margins for everyone involved.
Saturation is a natural stage in a product's life cycle, especially in dropshipping. A product is discovered, early sellers profit while demand outpaces competition, then rivals pile in as the product trends, and eventually the market floods. Telltale signs include dozens of near-identical stores, heavy ad repetition in your feed, and steadily falling selling prices.
Saturation isn't automatically fatal. Strong branding, better creative, bundling, or a superior offer can keep a saturated product profitable. But for an undifferentiated store, entering a saturated market late usually means paying more for traffic than the product can support.
